Stackmon released on Steam on 18 August 2026, developed by Riftpoint Entertainment and published by Alibi Games. It is a creature-collecting adventure built on a card-stacking mechanic, and the stacking is what separates it from the crowded monster-catcher field.

Stack creatures with cards, not just collect them

You discover and capture creatures, then stack them with resource and equipment cards to unlock rarer items and effects. The combination is the system — a creature on its own is a starting point rather than the goal.

The roster runs to 100+ Stackmon including evolutions plus Rare and Legendary editions, with 20+ equipment and item cards to buff your Stackmon and Scouts.

A base to build and biomes to work through

Progression runs through a home camp with 25+ buildings to construct and upgrade, and 7 unique biomes to explore, each with its own gameplay wrinkle.

Rival Scout Leaders provide the opposition, and behind it sits the story hook: a strange corruption called the Soot spreading across the land. That gives the collecting loop a reason to keep pushing outward rather than just filling a dex.

Built to be played at your own pace

The listing includes full controller support, a Mouse Only Option, Playable without Timed Input and a playable-at-your-own-pace designation. Steam Achievements are supported.

For a creature collector aimed partly at younger players, no timed-input requirement and both control schemes covered is the right call — it means the game adapts to how you want to play rather than demanding reflexes.

Windows and Linux, six languages

Stackmon ships on Windows and Linux — Linux support is uncommon at this scale and useful for Steam Deck players.

Localisation covers English, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, French, German and Spanish. Steam genre tags are Adventure, Indie and Strategy.

Under twelve dollars at launch

Stackmon is on Steam at $13.99. The launch discount has ended and this is the standard price, verified on 6 September 2026.

Twelve dollars for a creature collector with 100+ monsters, a base-building layer and seven biomes is solid content per dollar. The card-stacking twist is the reason to pick this over the many other monster-catchers — if that idea does not appeal, the rest is familiar territory executed cleanly.

Full details are on the official Steam store page.
