A boy called Ica decide to visit sea.
Icaria hit version 1.0 on Steam on June 17, 2026 from Blindsight Games LLC at no cost — it is free to play at the time of writing in June 2026, a robot colony builder where everything can be programmed — and where the player’s ability to automate becomes the bottleneck on growth rather than raw resource management. You arrive on a procedurally generated alien planet, automate a team of robots to gather resources and reshape terrain, scale up factories across the procedural voxel world, and use a built-in visual scripting language to write the behaviour that makes the colony work. It is Factorio with a programming-language as the central design layer rather than blueprints, and the genre fans who have been waiting for that specific evolution have found it.

About Icaria: Gameplay & Details
Born into a military empire, he was tired of war and inventing weapons. After transforming an old gunboat with stolen Flying Wings, Ica began his journey of escape. It is said that "ships" were originally used for "navigation", but in this world, the sea has disappeared for half a century.
Features
Escape from the battlefield by gunboat, cross the Ikaria continent, and enjoy the vast world outside the restricted area.
Dispatch cannons, launch missiles, repair engines However, please note that operating the outdated gunboat system requires manual input of commands. Confront all kinds of enemies – with your observation and typing speed! About
This mini game started with a gamejam, and with a passion for classic STG, typing games and 90s anime, we boldly attempted this experimental gameplay combination. After multiple rounds of adjustments and polishing, we realized our wish that more people to try this idea, so we decided to release it for free.
The game consists of 6 levels and a carefully crafted fantasy story, hoping you will enjoy it.

The benchmarks are Factorio (the genre-defining title), Satisfactory (the 3D evolution), Dyson Sphere Program (the megastructure-scale version), and Mindustry (the tower-defense-flavoured automation game). Icaria sits closest to Factorio in scope and depth but adds the programming-language layer that Factorio handles through circuit logic. For players who have wanted Factorio with deeper programmability — particularly programmers who think in functions and loops rather than spatial layouts — Icaria is the direct evolution that scratches the right itch. Compared to the broader colony-sim genre (RimWorld, Oxygen Not Included), Icaria is more robot-focused and less character-management-focused, which makes it more accessible to players who want pure systems engineering without character drama.
The Single-player tag and Simulation genre framing reflect the focused scope. There is no multiplayer at launch, which is the right scope for a heavy automation game where coordinating multi-player automation logic would be a significantly different design challenge.
The Buying Call on Icaria
Yes if you have spent hundreds of hours in Factorio and want a successor with deeper programmability. Yes if programming concepts genuinely appeal to you and the visual scripting layer sounds like fun rather than work. Less yes if you want narrative wrapper, multiplayer, or character-driven colony management — Icaria is purely systems engineering and the social layer is minimal. For the automation-game audience seeking the programmability dimension Factorio never fully delivered, this is a confident recommendation. Blindsight Games has shipped something meaningful for the genre. Worth picking up for any Factorio veteran looking for the next mechanical evolution. A confident recommendation across the automation-game category. The visual scripting layer alone justifies the install for any programmer-minded player who has plateaued in Factorio. Highly recommended for the right audience profile. One of the more important automation releases of 2026.
