Fright Train is out on Steam at $14.39, with a 10% launch discount at the time of writing. It is survival horror on a train in Antarctica, and the cold is as much a threat as what is on board.

A train is a good horror setting
Carriages give you a linear space with no way around what is in front of you, and the only exit is into an Antarctic winter. WildArts Games are using both halves of that — the monsters inside and the cold outside.
You play a paranormal agent
Doug Barker, a special agent whose remit is the paranormal. That framing suggests a protagonist who knows roughly what he is dealing with, which usually shifts a horror game towards tension rather than confusion.
Roguelite, not a linear campaign
Steam lists it as a survival horror roguelite, so runs are the structure. Horror and roguelites pull in opposite directions — repetition erodes fear — and how well it manages that is the thing worth watching for in reviews.
Third-person, single-player
No co-op. Third-person camera, one player, which is the harder configuration to make frightening and the more honest one for this kind of game.

Horror and roguelites pull against each other
Fear depends on not knowing what is coming. A roguelite depends on you running the same content until you learn it. Those two things fight, and most attempts resolve it by quietly becoming an action game with a horror aesthetic around the fifth run.
The ones that work change what the repetition means — randomising what is behind a door rather than which door you open, or making knowledge itself a resource you spend. Which approach Fright Train takes is the single most useful thing to look for in reviews.
The setting is doing real work
Antarctica closes off the usual escape. There is no running into the woods, and the cold gives the game a second pressure that does not need a monster attached to it — a survival clock that ticks whether or not anything is chasing you.
A train adds the other constraint: forward or back, nothing else. For a genre that often gets lost in open environments, that is a disciplined choice.
