Build and lead a football academy from U11 to U19. Scout and recruit young talent, develop your squads, set tactics, compete for promotion and trophies, improve
Football Academy Director is out on Steam at $12.74, with a 15% launch discount at the time of writing. It is a management sim about the part of football most management sims skip — the academy.

U11 to U19, not the first team
You run an academy across every age group from under-11s to under-19s. That is the whole remit — no transfer window theatrics, no first-team pressure, just the pipeline that feeds them.
Scouting is the job
Merla Interactive put recruitment at the centre: find young talent, bring them in, develop them. In a game where you cannot buy your way out of a problem, who you spot early is the decision that matters.
Tactics and promotion
Squads have tactics to set, and there is promotion and silverware to chase at each level. The academy itself can be improved too, which is the long-term progression layered under the season-to-season work.
A narrower game than Football Manager
That is the point rather than a criticism. This is one system explored properly instead of an entire club simulated shallowly, and at thirteen dollars it is priced accordingly.

Youth football is underserved
Football Manager simulates the academy, but as one system among dozens — a tab you visit between transfer windows. Building an entire game around it means the decisions that are usually background become the whole game: who to sign at eleven, when to promote, which position a player actually fits.
That is a real gap. There is an audience that enjoys the scouting and development loop more than the matchday drama, and almost nothing built specifically for it.
The risk is depth
A narrower game has to go deeper to justify itself. If the player progression is a single hidden potential number ticking up, this becomes a spreadsheet with a football skin. If development responds to training, minutes and position, it is the game the premise promises.
Merla Interactive are a small team, and thirteen dollars sets expectations appropriately. Worth reading reviews from anyone who has played a full season before committing.
Following players after they leave
The store page mentions following your graduates onward, which is the detail that gives an academy game its payoff. Developing a player matters more when you can see what they became somewhere else.
It also sidesteps the structural problem with youth management sims — that your best work leaves. Turning that departure into a scoreboard rather than a loss is the right call, and it is what keeps a long save worth continuing.
