ARC Raiders is a multiplayer extraction adventure, set in a lethal future earth, ravaged by a mysterious mechanized threat known as ARC.
Dropping an Arc Raiders Bastion in 16 seconds shouldn’t be possible. The walking pillbox shrugs off most loadouts, eats clips for breakfast and turns careless raiders into Bastion Cell paste with a three-second gatling burst. But a clip making the rounds this week shows exactly that — one player melting a Bastion in 16 seconds with nothing but a Hullcracker, no Deadline, no team. Embark’s recently added Nomadic Envoy NPC trades exclusively in big arc parts, which means learning to flatline these things fast is no longer a flex — it’s the new way to earn. Here is the best 2026 strategy for solo and squad Bastion kills.

About Arc Raiders Bastion: Gameplay & Details
In ARC Raiders, gameplay flows between the surface ruled by lethal machines, and the vibrant underground society of Speranza. Craft, repair, and upgrade your gear in the safety of your own workshop, before venturing topside to scavenge the remnants of a devastated but beautiful world. Play solo or in parties up to three, navigating the constant threat of ARC’s machines and the unpredictable choices of fellow survivors. In the end, only you decide what kind of Raider you are – and how far you’ll go to prevail.
Explore four distinct maps at launch, with more to be revealed as the underground society evolves and expands its reach. Each destination carries the weight of a world twice-destroyed, and the scars of conflicts both old and new. Sift through the remnants for valuable loot, and piece together the past as it’s slowly reclaimed by nature. Evolving map conditions ensure that no two runs are the same, with varying weather, enemies, and mechanics adding unpredictability and danger.
In a society built on boldness and bravado, it is up to you to stake your claim as a Raider. The loot you scavenge can be sold for coin or crafted into all-new gear, allowing you take on increasingly lethal dangers head-on. Through both victories and hardships, you’ll gain valuable experience; unlocking varied skills that enable all-new ways of play. In addition, you’ll complete quests for Traders with differing motives and agendas; uncovering both the friction and comradery of a community under constant threat of collapse.
Lethal machines known as ARC rule the surface, ranging from unrelenting drone swarms to mechanical giants that obliterate everything in their path. Their origins remain a mystery, but their ever-present danger is felt with every step you take. Each machine comes with distinct strengths and tactics, forcing you to pinpoint their weak spots and constantly think on your feet. And remember: the noise of battle carries. Other Raiders may be listening; eager to claim what you leave behind.
Raiders survive by kitbashing scavenged materials; using long-lost tech and looted ARC parts to craft weapons, gadgets, and gear. Upgrade your workshop stations and learn blueprints to craft even more advanced items, or improvise quick fixes in the field to get yourself out of a bind. As you make a name for yourself, you’ll be able to measure your skill against other Raiders by taking on Trials; rising through the leaderboards to earn valuable rewards.
In Speranza, everyone has an agenda, and the Traders are no different. They’ll send you topside on missions in exchange for rewards, slowly revealing more about who they are and what they want for Speranza’s future. Complete quests to earn gear, crafting materials, and XP to level up your Raider and unlock new skill points.
The ARC Raiders skill tree branches into three paths: Survival, Mobility, and Conditioning. Spend your points to shape your playstyle. Loot faster and move quieter with Survival skills. Outmaneuver your opponents and threats with Mobility. And enhance your Strength and Stamina with Conditioning. Choose how you grow and what your Raider brings to the battle.
Whether you’re preparing to take down specific ARC enemies or fend off rival Raiders, there’s a choice of weaponry for every fight. Cater to your style with a range of firearms including SMGs, rifles and shotguns, as well as more advanced options such as railguns and energy weapons. Grenades, traps, ziplines and deployables offer the tactical depth needed to outsmart your enemies, while augments allow you to tailor your loadout to your preferred playstyle; unlocking dedicated inventory slots and additional gameplay perks.

An Arc Raiders Bastion: The Gameplay Breakdown
The Arc Raiders Bastion is classified as an elite-tier ARC machine: a slow, heavily armoured ground unit that anchors high-value resource zones across every map in the game. Visually it’s a walking fortress; mechanically it’s a layered armour problem with one obvious deterrent — a forward-mounted gatling that screeches loudly before unloading a three-second sustained burst at your last known position. That windup is your tell. Once the gun spins down it has to reposition before firing again, and that’s the safe window every successful kill is built around.
You will find Bastions patrolling Dam Battlegrounds, The Spaceport, The Blue Gate, Buried City, and both Stella Montis tiers. They drop five to seven Bastion Cells (worth roughly 5,000 coins each in 2026 economy), along with ARC Alloy, ARC Powercell, ARC Motion Core, ARC Circuitry, Advanced ARC Powercell, Mechanical Components and Medium Gun Parts. With the Nomadic Envoy in rotation, Bastions are now the single most efficient farm for big arc parts in the game.

The Arc Raiders Bastion Weak Points That Make 16-Second Kills Possible
Forget the chassis. The Arc Raiders Bastion has two damage gateways that matter: the yellow leg joints and the yellow rear canister. Land sustained fire on either and the Bastion stuns; cripple the legs and it can no longer reposition between bursts. Break the rear canister and the back plate peels open to expose a second barrel and the red core — this is the critical window where damage multipliers spike. Every fast Bastion kill in the game is just two steps: peel the back, dump everything into the core.
The viral 16-second clip is a clean execution of that loop. The player triggers the Bastion, breaks line of sight while the minigun winds down, slides around the rear, lands consecutive Hullcracker rounds on the back canister until it pops, and unloads the remaining magazine straight into the exposed core. No Deadline, no Wolfpack, no grenade economy — just precise burst-timing and a Hullcracker loaded with heavy ammo. The lesson for the rest of us is straightforward: most failed Bastion fights are positioning failures, not DPS failures.

Best Loadout for Hunting Arc Raiders Bastions in 2026

The Hullcracker remains the king of arc-killing primaries thanks to its high per-shot damage and clean handling, with the Equalizer as the runner-up if you can stomach the recoil. On a tighter budget, the Anvil and Renegade still pulp Bastions — they just take a few more cycles. Always run heavy ammo in any of these. For explosives, the post-1.3 meta still rates Deadline mines for the safest “stick and detonate” play, with Wolfpack, Blaze Grenade and Snap Blast as solid alternatives when you want to crack the back plate without exposing yourself to the gatling. Showstopper and Hornet Driver are situationally useful but generally outclassed.
Pack an Augment with at least medium shield support and extra Safe Pockets so the Bastion Cells, ARC Alloy and rarer drops all make it through extraction. Bring upgraded healing — Sterilized Bandages, Vita Shots or Vita Spray over basic bandages — and at least one Surge Shield Recharger. None of this is optional for solo runs; the Bastion can two-shot you through low-tier armour if you get caught in a full burst. For a wider look at modern shooter-RPG loadout theory, our Souls-Like Games to Play in 2026 — From Mina the Hollower to Nioh 3 roundup covers the same patience-first instincts that translate directly to Bastion fights.

Solo vs Squad: How to Kill an Arc Raiders Bastion Cleanly
For solo, control the geometry. Drop the first shot only when you have a building, doorway or stack of hard cover with a defined exit route. After the screech, eat the three-second burst behind cover, then circle wide — not directly behind, but around the flank — to land your canister shots from an angle the gatling can’t whip to fast enough. When the back plate opens, commit the rest of the magazine in one go. If the Bastion starts re-winding before the core dies, retreat back to your cover line and repeat the loop. A clean solo kill is usually two-to-three cycles, not one.
For squads, assign roles before contact. One raider takes aggro and stays mobile in the open enough to keep the minigun aimed at them — but never long enough to eat a full burst. A second raider keeps suppression up on the leg joints to chip armour and stun. The third positions behind the rear and waits for the canister window.
Communication beats raw DPS every time; uncoordinated trios spend more ammo and lose more loot to the inevitable PvP wave that the gunfire attracts. The Arc Raiders Bastion rewards patience harder than almost any other PvE encounter in the game right now — and that’s exactly why mastering it pays off in Bastion Cells and big arc parts faster than any other farm in 2026.

Arc Raiders Bastion Verdict: 7/10 and Fair Value for the Ask

The design intent in Arc Raiders Bastion is clear enough that players will know within the first hour whether this is for them. The systems work, the presentation is competent, and the pricing is fair for what’s on offer. That clarity of purpose is worth something in a market full of vague indie pitches.
