An illegal shopkeeping game set in an apartment. Grow tomatoes on your balcony, dry and sell them to customers. Be careful, some of them are undercover cops! Us
Tomato Dealer released on Steam on 19 August 2026 from solo developer bokanik. You run an underground tomato shop from your apartment, in a country where tomatoes are banned — and the joke is played completely straight.
Farm the balcony, watch the door
You grow tomatoes on a hidden balcony and sell them to customers who visit your apartment. The threat is that undercover cops are hidden among those customers.
Your defence is information: your “connections” share the cops’ behavioural patterns with you, and you use those to detect and report them. Keep a low profile, and never deal with them.

Pattern-reading, not reflexes
That structure makes this a deduction game wearing a management game’s clothes. Every customer is a judgement call — sell, refuse, or report — based on tells you have been given rather than luck.
The listing backs that up: Playable without Timed Input and a playable-at-your-own-pace designation. Nothing here depends on reaction speed, which is the right call for a game about reading people carefully.
There is a political layer
The world has factions. Some customers want to overthrow the oppressive ban, hippies protest relentlessly, and scientists are working to prove tomatoes cause no harm.
Supplying your network works toward legalising tomatoes — so the goal is not just surviving as a dealer but changing the law that made you one. That gives the loop a destination rather than an endless grind.

What the listing includes
This is single-player with Steam Achievements, Camera Comfort options and custom volume controls.
The build is Windows only and English only — worth noting, since a game built on reading customer dialogue for tells is heavily language-dependent. Steam genre tags are Indie and Simulation.

Seven sixty-five at launch
Tomato Dealer is on Steam at $9.00. The launch discount has ended and this is the standard price, verified on 6 September 2026.
Under eight dollars for a solo-developed deduction sim with a genuinely funny premise is easy value. The absurdity is doing real work here — a contraband game about tomatoes lets it explore prohibition and informants without the weight a drug-dealing sim would carry.
If you liked reading customers in Papers, Please and want something lighter in tone but similar in structure, this is aimed squarely at you.
