KuKu has opened a brand-new cinema! You can enter the cinema scene in the game to play and watch videos, enjoying an immersive virtual movie-going experience an
KuKu’s Cinema released on Steam on 16 August 2026 from GunKuchar Present, and it is free. It is not a game in the conventional sense — it is a virtual cinema for watching your own video files, alone or with friends.
Your files, on a big screen
The core function is straightforward: you step into a fully designed cinema, pick a seat, and play your own local video files on the theatre screen.
That is the important distinction. This is not a streaming service and it does not supply content — it renders video you already have on a large virtual screen in a room built to look like a cinema. What you watch is entirely up to what is on your drive.

Synchronised group viewing
The multiplayer side is where it earns its place. You can create viewing sessions and invite friends, with automatic playback synchronisation keeping everyone’s video in step during shared viewing.
Sync is the hard part of any watch-together setup, and handling it automatically rather than relying on everyone hitting play at once is what separates a usable tool from a novelty. Players can also move freely around the theatre rather than being locked to a seat.
Comfort features over gameplay
The Steam feature list reflects what this actually is. It includes custom volume controls, stereo sound, Playable without Timed Input and a playable-at-your-own-pace designation.
There is no fail state, no timer and nothing to complete. Sitting in a cinema seat is offered as an immersion feature rather than a mechanic, which is an honest way to present it.
Steam genre tags are Casual and Free To Play. No Steam Achievements or Cloud saves are listed, which is unsurprising for a utility.

Broad language support, Windows only
Localisation is wide for a free release — English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese among others.
The build is Windows only. Note also that this is a flatscreen application: despite the cinema premise, VR is not listed among its features, so do not buy expecting a headset experience.

Free, with the obvious caveat
KuKu’s Cinema is free to play on Steam, verified on 16 August 2026. There is no price and no discount.
The practical question is whether you need it. If you and friends already watch things together and want a shared virtual space with working sync, this costs nothing to try. If you are looking for something to watch rather than somewhere to watch it, this supplies the room and not the film.
Being a small free release, expect a functional space rather than a polished simulation — but at zero cost the only investment is a download.
