Big Walk is the second game from House House, the Australian studio behind Untitled Goose Game, published by Panic. It arrived on Steam on 4 August 2026 — so it is not a brand-new release, but it is currently sitting at a 25% discount, which makes now a reasonable time to look at it.

A co-op adventure built around talking

House House describe it plainly as a cooperative multiplayer adventure about teamwork and talking. You and your friends set out across a wide-open world full of challenges, puzzles and discoveries, and the work is in coordinating rather than in execution.

The twist is communication itself. You stay in contact using an assortment of tools and toys, and at points you have to find new ways to communicate when you suddenly find yourself speechless. Losing your voice is a designed obstacle, not a bug.

Proximity voice chat as a mechanic, not a feature

The headline system is the voice chat. House House built proximity audio where voices fade across distance, echo down corridors and muffle through walls.

That turns the audio into part of the puzzle space. Splitting up has a real cost — you lose clear contact — and the environment shapes what your friends can hear. Most co-op games treat voice chat as infrastructure sitting outside the game; here the game is simulating it, which is a meaningful design difference.

There is time to do nothing

House House are explicit that adventuring aside, there is plenty of time to just hang out. Their own examples: sit and watch the sunset, or steal your friend’s binoculars and kick them into the ocean.

That is the studio’s sensibility showing. Untitled Goose Game was built on the pleasure of causing small, low-stakes trouble, and the same instinct is here — the goal is spending time with friends, and the walk is the excuse.

Cross-platform, and what the listing supports

The multiplayer set-up is generous. The Steam listing includes Multi-player, Co-op, Online Co-op and — importantly — Cross-Platform Multiplayer, so your group is not confined to one storefront.

Steam Achievements and full controller support are both included. It ships on Windows and macOS. Localisation covers French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Polish and Portuguese alongside English.

Worth noting what is absent: there is no single-player mode listed. This needs other people.

The discount, and why now

Big Walk is on Steam at $19.99 verified against the store page on 15 August 2026. Since the game launched on 4 August, this is a post-launch promotion rather than a launch-window price.

The value case is simple and depends entirely on your circumstances. If you have a group who will actually get on voice chat, a House House game built around proximity audio is an unusual thing and worth fifteen dollars. If you play alone, there is nothing here for you — and the store page does not pretend otherwise.
