Axiomatik is on Steam in Early Access at $15.29, with a 15% launch discount at the time of writing. It is a VR arcade platformer in which you play a robot running on a battery that will not last.
The battery is the timer
There is no countdown in the corner of the screen. Your power supply is the clock, which ties the pressure to the character rather than the interface. In VR that usually reads better — you feel the constraint instead of watching it tick.
Shoot-2-See
The mechanic developer J&J lead with is a neat inversion: you find your way through darkness by firing glowing laser neons to light it. Shooting becomes navigation rather than combat, and in a genre where the gun is almost always a weapon, that is genuinely unusual.
Quantum portals handle traversal, and there are Schrödinger boxes to open along the way. The physics-joke framing suggests a game being playful about its premise rather than solemn, which suits an arcade structure.
Axiomatik is an arcade game, not a campaign
J&J describe Axiomatik as a squeaky coloured VR arcade platformer, and the word arcade is doing real work. Expect discrete levels and repeat attempts rather than a continuous world — the right shape for a game built on beating a clock.
It also suits the medium. Sessions in a headset tend to be short whether the game intends it or not, and designing around that rather than against it is a practical decision.
Early Access, and VR
Two things about Axiomatik worth weighing together. VR platformers live or die on comfort, and an unfinished one has had less time to solve that — check recent reviews for motion comfort specifically before buying.
Steam’s summary data does not list supported headsets either. Confirm yours is covered on the store page; an Early Access VR title is the likeliest place for gaps.
Fifteen dollars, and who is behind it
$15.29 at the time of writing, published by UnrealEstate rather than self-published. That separation is less common at this price, and it usually means someone outside the project thought it worth backing — a modest signal, but a real one for a game with no reviews yet.
Fifteen per cent off an Early Access price is effectively a double discount, since the base figure already sits below what the finished version is expected to cost. Treat the current price as an early-adopter rate rather than a promise.
