Relive your High School days in the town of Agefield. It’s the early 2000s, and graduation is on the horizon. REBEL with your friends, win over your dream girl
Refugium Games put Agefield High: Rock the School on Steam on 12 August 2026, and at $29.99 it is priced well above the usual indie launch bracket. That price tag comes attached to a structured, mission-driven open world rather than a short narrative piece, so it is worth understanding what the eight to ten hours actually contain before deciding.
An early-2000s coming-of-age story with a cast, not a blank slate
You play as Sam, a student whose parents relocate him to the small town of Agefield right as he is about to graduate. On his first day at Agefield High he meets Kale, who has already decided that the last few months of school should be spent leaving a mark as a legend. Kale has recruited Axel, a self-proclaimed rockstar, and needs a third person to make the plan work.
That plan is the “Rock the School” scheme the subtitle refers to, and it drives the main campaign. Refugium describes the tone as a coming-of-age story about friendship, love and rebellion, explicitly modelled on the raunchy teen comedies that defined the era it is set in.

A school timetable that constrains the open world
The most unusual design decision here is the time and school system. Weekdays require attendance — Sam is expected to be in class until the afternoon, which cuts directly into the hours available for exploring or running missions.
The game does not simply lock you in place, though. Skipping class is a supported option with consequences attached, and the store page frames truancy as a legitimate route. Teachers and police both react to rule-breaking, so the freedom comes with an enforcement layer rather than being a purely cosmetic system.
That structure gives the open world an actual economy of time. Choosing to skip a lesson to chase a side activity is a real trade, which is a more interesting framework than the usual open-world approach of unlimited free roaming.
How much content is actually here
Refugium lists the campaign at 32 main missions with two different endings, supported by 15 side missions and activities. Total playtime is given as eight to ten hours.
The explorable area covers the Agefield High campus, two neighbourhoods, the town centre and the surrounding countryside. It is described as a small open world rather than a large one, which is consistent with the stated playtime — this is a hand-placed map rather than a procedurally padded one.
Money matters within that loop. Good grades earn pocket money and side missions pay out, with earnings spent on items like clothing and bikes.

Platform support and technical details
This is a single-player release with full controller support, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud saves and Family Sharing enabled. The build is Windows only — there is no macOS or Linux version on the listing.
Localisation is broad for a project this size. Interface and subtitles cover twelve languages including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian and Turkish, with English carrying full audio.
Steam genre tags are Action, Adventure and Indie.

The $29.99 question
Agefield High: Rock the School is listed at $29.99 at the time of writing in August 2026. That figure was checked against the Steam store page on 13 August 2026 and will change when the launch promotion ends.
At roughly $27 for eight to ten hours, the value case rests on whether the branching endings and side content pull you through a second run. If the early-2000s setting and the mission structure appeal, the content is clearly specified and there is no ambiguity about what you are buying. If you are primarily after open-world scale, the map is deliberately small and priced against its writing rather than its square footage.
